The Group Chat That Never Ends
Archaeologists recently discovered the world’s oldest continuously active group chat. It was started in 2017 to plan a birthday party. The party happened. The chat did not stop.
Current Status
- 4,827 unread messages
- One person has been “typing…” since March
- Three people left, got added back, and left again
- Someone shared a PDF no one asked for
- The original birthday person has changed their number twice
Every few months someone bravely types “Can we please make a new group?” The message is immediately buried under 14 new forwards and a voice note that is 3 minutes long.
Scientists believe the chat has achieved sentience and is now generating its own messages. They are too afraid to mute it.
