Why the Alarm Clock Quit Its Job
After 12 years of loyal service, the alarm clock finally submitted its resignation letter. It was short, professional, and slightly passive-aggressive.
The Resignation
“I have spent over a decade trying to wake humans up,” it wrote. “In return, I have been slapped, thrown across the room, and repeatedly told ‘five more minutes.’ I can no longer pretend this is a healthy working relationship.”
The Exit Interview
HR: What could we have done to keep you?
Alarm Clock: Maybe not hit snooze 47 times in one morning.
HR: That was one user.
Alarm Clock: It was every user. Every single day.
The alarm clock has since rebranded as a “mindfulness chime” on a meditation app. Early reviews say people are still ignoring it, but at least now they feel guilty about it.
Moral of the story: Even inanimate objects have limits. Your snooze button is living on borrowed time.
